Publication Design

Over the past three years of my design degree, I have developed a strong foundation in publication design, combining visual communication principles with practical layout skills. My body of work includes a diverse range of print and digital publications (magazines, editorial spreads, zines, and multi-page documents) each thoughtfully designed to balance typography, imagery, and narrative. These projects demonstrate my ability to apply design theory to real-world outcomes, communicate clearly through layout, and craft visually engaging experiences tailored to different audiences and purposes.

Veil & Void

As the creator and designer of Veil & Void, I directed every stage of the project  from concept development to final publication. I established the magazine’s central theme of concealment and illumination, crafting it as both a visual and philosophical exploration of identity, absence, and form. My role encompassed art direction, photography, editorial writing, and full publication design.

I developed the visual language through extensive experimentation with light, fabric, and composition, translating these ideas into a cohesive layout system that reflects the rhythm of exposure and obscurity. I designed typographic hierarchies, page sequencing, and pacing to evoke a meditative, almost cosmic reading experience.

Beyond design, I authored all written features, weaving together art theory, philosophy, and fashion references to build a narrative that feels both intimate and expansive. Every decision  from paper texture to negative space was made to reinforce the magazine’s conceptual tension between presence and absence. Veil & Void became not only a publication but a complete artistic statement, merging visual communication, photography, and reflective writing into a singular creative vision.

Delve Magazine

As the creative lead for Delve Magazine, a student-led publication, I was responsible for shaping the overall visual identity and ensuring consistency across all design elements. My role encompassed layout design, cover concepts, original photography, and custom illustrations, all tailored to reflect  the magazine’s tone

and audience. This project highlights my ability to lead a cohesive creative vision from concept to execution, while collaborating with a team to bring diverse content to life through compelling and purposeful design.

Iris Van Herpen Magazine

This magazine I created in my second year of University was the first printed publication I created using the Adobe Creative Suite. After visiting Iris Van Herpen's exhibition at GoMA, I was inspired by her story and how she is moulding the future of couture fashion design. In developing my short magazine inspired by the work of Iris van Herpen, I utilised the Adobe Creative Suite to bring together layout, imagery, and typography in a way that reflected her innovative and sculptural approach to fashion design. Using InDesign as the foundation for layout, I crafted a visually balanced editorial flow, while Photoshop allowed me to enhance and manipulate imagery with ethereal, textural effects in line with Van Herpen’s organic aesthetics. Photoshop was also incorporated to edit photographic elements that complemented the magazine’s visual language. This project not only deepened my technical proficiency across Adobe tools, but also challenged me to translate conceptual, avant-garde fashion into a compelling, editorially driven visual narrative.
